About chiropractic

What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the spine, nervous system and the rest of the body. Through carefully applied spinal adjustments and related therapies, chiropractors aim to ease pressure on joints, reduce irritation around nerves and support the body’s natural ability to heal.

How chiropractic may help

Many people seek chiropractic care for back and neck pain, headaches and joint stiffness that build up over time or start after an injury. Research suggests that spinal manipulation and related manual therapies can be helpful for a number of spine-related complaints, particularly some forms of lower back pain.

At Prime Chiropractic Centre we consider your full history, lifestyle and goals so that treatment is appropriate for your situation, not just your diagnosis.

Safety & clinical judgement

Spinal manipulation is generally regarded as safe when performed by a trained, registered chiropractor on suitable patients. As with any intervention, there are risks and limits. Certain conditions require caution or a different approach altogether.

Dr A. Makowe keeps up to date with current research and clinical guidelines. If chiropractic is not the right choice for your condition, this will be explained and you will be guided to an appropriate healthcare provider.
